notes on Objeckts
to the mind that
begs the question
Who is it that thinks ?
ORGANISMOS
aaql is an organism, a container and an archive — a curatorial experiment that examines the semantics of objects.
aaql is an agora, it is an act of exposure, a movement around and through the machine of mass production.
aaql performs a self-reflective critique of hyper-marketisation, dressed as a forum.
aaql trades objeckts outside the logic of economic exchange, preferring placement over price.
POETICS
Objeckts are Things; the orthographic shift marks a conceptual rupture — from passive objects to conveyors of aesthetic oddity
Objeckt Forms are fluid: artworks/artefacts, non-artistic objects, text, fashion accessories/textiles, performances and exhibitions.
Over-production, branding, and shallow utility destroy meaning.
Placement, juxtaposition, and narrative create meaning.
aaql is intrinsically paradoxical. It collects:
what is functional and un-functional
what is in and out of place
what is forgotten and what is celebrated
what refuses to fit and what alters itself to conform
Curation is choreography : beauty and function are not always aligned.
To collect is to question. Why do we surround ourselves with what we do ?
aaql seldom answers — but always inquires.
aaql engenders symmetry in the polyphony of difference.
aaql is idiolectic — shaping its own language through deconstruction.
Cacophony becomes a tool for intelligibility.
aaql subverts singularity by dissolving fixed identity — constructing instead a language of universal exclusivity.
aaql resists categorisation.
aaql is methodical yet instinctual and intuitive.
The process is abnormal, layered, rhythmic—transparent but obscure, ironic, soft, and academic.
aaql embraces contradiction as condition.
From a distance an observed texture can become meta-tactile.
aaql Objeckts are an evocation of touch.
SYNTHESE
Trade is the essence of aaql’s critique.
Each transaction within aaql is a gesture of defiance—a reminder that not everything must be monetised or valued through profitability.
aaql trades Objeckts — in what is found, created, heard, touched, read, questioned, liked and disliked, forgotten and remembered.
Locality is a material attitude — not a fixed geography, but an embedded way of seeing, sourcing, and exchanging.
aaql is partial to the logic of aesthetics over the logic of market demand.
These veins of existence are curated for their ability to distort, to provoke, and imprint meaning through abstraction.
aaql is not necessary — and that is the point.
Its existence is a gesture against the tyranny of utility.
Here, the mundane is sacred, the lost is found, and the forgotten is ritualised — the peculiar is revered, not for a purpose, but for the desire of its own existence.
Touch matters. x
